Multi-Million Dollar Pool Tournament Cancelled
The North American Confederation of Professional Billiards Association (NACPBA) has announced cancelling the planned Multi Million Dollar Pool Tour. According to the press release, the cancellation was imposed on the pool association by the purposed tournament sponsors, claiming that the North American pool-billiards circuit is not ready for a pool tournament in such a scope.
Following the decision to cancel the Multi Million Dollar Pool Tour, the NACPBA brings up several questions on the pool-billiards environment in North America and wonders about the relation between the professional pool players and the organizations. In the press release that included the pool tournament cancellation announcement, the NACPBA calls American and Canadian pool players to "decide whether the organizations that represent them are the ones they want".
Does the environment in the professional billiards scene in North America unready for a multi million dollar pool tournament? And is it the pool associations' fault? According to the North American Confederation of Professional Billiards Association (NACPBA), the answer to both questions is yes. Additionally, the NACPBA blames the pool players for not taking responsibility on their sportive upbringing and allowing their unreliable organizations to design the playing environment in their shape.
As a result, the NACPBA claims, potential sponsors (such as the financial backers of the Multi Million Dollar Billiards Tour) prefer to put the money in more suitable environments, and the pool players miss the chance of taking part in tournaments with multi million dollar prizes.
